This workshop introduces participants to integrating concepts of cultural sustainability into their organization’s operations. By the end, participants will have an understanding of how to use cultural sustainability concepts to both support the destination community’s cultural sustainability and strengthen their organizations operations. They will walk away with a Cultural Sustainability Policy to add to their organization's sustainability profile.

This workshop supports communities, cultural organizations, and local governments in connecting their cultural values to global frameworks like UNESCO’s Culture|2030 Indicators. Through a grounded, participatory process, participants define what cultural sustainability looks like locally—and map those priorities to international goals. The outcome is a set of community-driven indicators that can inform planning, policy, funding, and advocacy.

It’s a practical way to show how culture drives sustainable, resilient development.
